• New Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A Groundbreaking

With discussions beginning in 2017, in November 2023, this groundbreaking is the result of the City of Lee’s Summit entering into a Cost Share agreement with MoDOT to fund a new 291N and US 50 Hwy interchange. The City created a Tax Increment Financing District to fund a portion of the relocation of MSHP Troop A to a new headquarters. The anticipated total commitment from the City to these projects is $21 million with $8.11M toward Troop A relocation, and $9.9M toward the new interchange with an anticipated $3M in cost escalation for the interchange.
